Sean O’Malley’s ascension to the top of the Bantamweight mountain suffered a heavy hit after Marlon Vera handed him his first loss in MMA. The loss came quick and served an anticlimactic end to the much anticipated co-main event of UFC 252.

Fighting in the biggest match of his career so far, O’Malley was seen limping early on in the match after his ankle bizarrely gave in. Vera took advantage of the situation he was presented with and quickly capitalised on it to win the fight.
