The Secret to Improving Your Art and Paintings: Brush Techniques and sketching. Wondering how to learn twice or even three times as fast to improve your painting? Then this video is for you! I will demonstrate how you only need two cheap watercolour brushes (caligraphy brush, no 6-8 synthetic round brush) to paint most landscapes and subjects in watercolour!

Watch this before you go out and buy any brushes and materials. I'll go through of my top tips that BEGINNERS should be aware of before buying any watercolour brushes.

The watercolours I am using in this video are Daniel Smith Watercolours, but any artists' grade watercolour paints will do just fine - I just got a good deal on these awhile back and wanted to try them out. The sketchbook I am using is the Stillman and Birn - Gamma series (150gsm, made from wood pulp, not cotton). This is relatively inexpensive paper in which many similar alternatives can be found. I just appreciate the convenience of having a sketchbook. In this tutorial, I will also show you and review how this sketchbook holds up to watercolour washes.
