Dodge Stealth RT/TT first drive (part 1)
This is the first drive in my 1992 Dodge Stealth RT twin turbo.
A little backstory. I bought the car kinda running from someone who picked it up super cheap from a tow yard with lien paperwork. The car was pretty rough on the outside and on the inside from the handful of owners who didn't take care of the car. It had a handful of visible mods like the arc 2 fuel controller, blitz boost controller, a few things under the hood like CX racing tubing and RC 550 cc injectors, and the ceika bbk. didn't seem like anything super special.
The guy had the car posted in my home town of Dixon for 5k. I asked for a ride in it to see how it performed and drove as he said the brakes were funny like warped rotors or something and claimed the car was really fast (although he barely got on it...) after all that I offered 3000 and he declined.
Some time went on and after a few more offers (3000 + a vortech supercharger, etc) I kinda gave up.
a few months later I noticed it for sale for 3k and it was supposed to have been blown up or something but still ran.
I jumped at the chance and bought it after he showed me the picture of the very not stock turbos and mentioned it had a ported intake.
I towed it home to analyze what I had purchased and to check for other go fast parts after seeing the turbos (after some research it seems the car was covered in Dynamic racing parts including the heads, lower intake blow off valve and turbos.)
The parts that made me think the engine wasn't toast was that there were a ton of visible issues. The engine wiring harness was in shambles, it was running but pig rich (maxed out the wideband at 10-1 but with the amount of smoke it was prolly worse.), and a number of non visible issues.
Fast forward. This is the first drive after repairing or replacing every component I could think of which might cause problems.
There are a few kinks to work out for sure and in the meantime I'm installing a few of the parts I bought (oohnoo intercoolers, tubular front subframe, larger ceika rotors, new idlers for the alt belt, etc) and fixing a couple things I got wrong (catch can is hooked to intake vs ahead of the turbo so its seeing vacuum and boost)
