Unexpected Visitors at the Farm But the Chicks Stayed Safe

It seems that a mama raccoon is missing her 3 babies. They have been hanging out around the edge of the yard and down by the swampy pond. They were up in the pine tree by the rose garden and all the chickens were on high alert. Dorthy headed to the closest safe place which was the adult coop. I locked them in until the raccoons were gone. Rosie and Blanche hid behind the deck over by the garage door until “the lady,” (me) took care of the threat. Hopefully the poor baby raccoons will be ok by themselves. At least they have each other. I just hope they choose a different area to live in.
