Tamandua doesn't run away from danger because it can't. If he senses a predator, he usually freezes and waits for the danger to resolve itself. If he has already come into the enemy's field of view, then he stands on his hind legs and begins to swing threateningly. Given his color, from the outside he looks like a drunk friend who is very glad to see you.
