Epidendrum ciliares var. oerstedii - BAD time of year to repot, BUT, needs must! Roots are a growin'

FINALLY, I can put a name to a 'face'... needless to say, despite having an ID, it doesn't change the fact that this orchid grows new roots after the season's growths finished blooming, which puts the timing right into the hottest part of the summer, August 2020, in my Mediterranean climate! This is the first time I am repotting this orchid, since it has joined my collection, it is currently in lava rock, but I want to change that to my preferred set up, self watering with leca. I am apprehensive about this repot, because of the time of year, so fingers crossed everything goes to plan!
