A total of nine candidates are battling it out to see who will become the next Alberta premier and leader of the UCP. Rebecca Schulz, the MLA for Calgary-Shaw and former Minister of Children’s Services has thrown her name in the hat vying for the top job. Schulz was in Lethbridge on Tuesday campaigning in the city. She will be in tough against frontrunners Travis Toews, Danielle Smith and Brian Jean. She says there are a few things that make her stand apart from the competition.

Schulz will be at Honkers Pub at 7pm Tuesday night meeting with Lethbridge residents. The UCP will name their new leader on October 6th. Jason Kenney has stayed on as interim leader of the party since he announced he was leaving the position last month after only receiving just over 51 per cent support from party members.
