17 Day Old Chicks Raised By Broody Mama Hen

Our first time here with baby chicks and I don’t ever want to have to do it alone. Having a broody mama hen to hatch and raise them like they are her own is the way to go. They seem so much more advanced than any other 17 day old chicks that I’ve ever seen. Plus since our brooder pen is outside, they have been exposed to weather and nature right from the start. I guess it all really just depends on how good of a mom your hen is. We got really lucky with our silver laced wyandotte, Dorthy. Couldn’t ask for a better mama hen.

Chicks are all Welsummer rooster/ISA Brown Hen mix.
