Another Embassy Appointment - NOT! - Ho Chi Minh - June 28, 2022

U.S. citizens applying for a passport renewal via a DS-82 form will no longer be required to make an appointment. Instead, they should visit the American Citizen Services section any Friday (excluding holidays and administrative days) between 9 am – 12 pm. Applicants must bring a completed, correct DS-82 form to be signed and dated on the day of drop off. Applicants must also bring their current passport, recent passport photos, and cash payment (dollars or drams). You can find the DS-82 form and more information about filling it out here.

Why this episode?

I can't recall if it was a joke or just a general sentiment I stumbled across, but apparently, the Cuban attribute of respecting elders seems to strike other latin groups as absurd or humorous.

Maybe it's just respecting FEMALE elders that strikes them as amusing. - If I recall correctly, I believe they DID specify "Abuelita".

So...if displaying respect for your own society is a particularly Cuban attribute...
