Salute to the Unnoticeables

So frequently, we're focused intently on the big, the spectacular. Rays, sharks, turtles, schools of fish. But this short episode gives a belated bow to the background, the slimy, fuzzy, nondescript entities that really make up the biomass and give structure and function to the living reef. From tiny to moderate size, some are exquisitely complex and breathtakingly delicate, all fitting into the immensely complex ecosystem.

We're out in the southernmost Berry Islands, off Chub Cay with a long wall system going down a thousand feet. Water temp 85. No current. Visibility around 100 feet.
