13 children born not of blood, nor of the desire of the flesh,
nor born of the will of man, but are born of God.
14 And the Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his
glory, the glory of the one and the only Son, who came from the
Father, full of grace and truth.
15 John testified about him. He cried out, saying, "This was he of
whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he
was before me. He existed before me. Yes he was before me. He
existed before me'"
16 And from his fullness we have all received grace upon grace.
17 For the law was given through Moses. But grace and truth came
through Jesus Christ – grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
