Tourists consider the Philippine island of Palawan a paradise: tropical trees, exotic flowers, and a snow-white seashore. However, for local tribes, life there has turned into hell. International corporations came to the island to mine nickel. For the sake of new mines, they cut down relic forests and thus gradually changed the climate. Without the jungle, natural disasters will fall on Palawan: in the summer, people expect to be left without fresh water, and in the rainy season face floods.

Activists are trying to save the island from an ecological disaster. They seize logging equipment, storm illegal businesses, and expose corrupt politicians. Unfortunately, this is a dangerous occupation: environmental activists are being killed for their work in Palawan
