In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches us about three particular disciplines of the faith—GIVING, PRAYING, and FASTING. Spiritual disciplines are NOT religious rituals; they are habits, practices, and experiences that are designed to develop, grow, and strengthen one’s spirit—to build the “muscles” of one’s character as a follower of Christ.
