Episode 56: Hongi's Rotorua Campaign: Part 1

Hongi and Ngapuhi seek revenge for the slaying of Te Pae-o-te rangi and his party at Motutawa, Rotokākahi (Green Lake) around October 1822.
Hongi's force leaves the Bay of Islands in Feb 1823, their desire to extract satisfaction from Te Arawa tribes in the thermal area of Rotorua is strong.
