How to create a blur effect around a vertical video so that it fills the screen in Shotcut. This is a quick tutorial demonstrating how to add a gaussian blur on the sides of a vertical video. It gives you step by step instructions on how to complete the technique, which removes the black sides from the video.

TIP: YouTube Shorts automatically adds the blur effect to the sides, if you are watching on a full screen device. Do not do this if you want your video to qualify for the Shorts Shelf.
