Create a Channel Icon [FREE Canva Account]

This video explains how to create a channel icon using a free canva account. I guide you through the step-by-step process of creating an icon that you can use on your YouTube channel. For the best results a channel icon must by square (in the video I use 500 by 500px) with a minimum size of 98 by 98px. The final image must not exceed 4MB in size. Its also worth remembering that the image displays as a circle on YouTube, so the corners are cut off - avoid using these areas for any important details.

The channel icon will appear in a number of places on YouTube, mainly on your homepage and when you comment. I recommend using your face, so people can immediately identify it is you. You can obviously use a logo or other images if you prefer.

I dont mention this in the video, but increasing the brightness and contrast of your channel icon can also enhance it. When the image is very small the contrast and brightness stand out over other similar images.
