Good Responses to Abuse Victims:

1. Apologize that it happened: “I’m so sorry that happened to you.”
2. Wish you had known when it was happening and could have done something to prevent/stop it.
3. Support telling their story, the damage abuse has caused and the healing journey.

Poor Responses to Abuse Victims:

1. God is not pleased with you
2. You don’t need counseling
3. Turn away from them on social media
4. Shut down conversations.
