Ship scrapping loop (No Man's Sky tutorial)

Update: now that suspicious modules require Tainted Metal to purchase, just ignore that part. The rest still works.

In this video, I demonstrate the ship scrapping loop I use to gain nanites. If you have any tips or tricks, or use a different method, let me know in the comments. There are plenty of videos out there on this subject, but this is to show how well it works in Origins, and discuss numbers in detail.

I started scrapping ships after I'd sold the suspicious modules, so that means I started with 24,438 nanites and 2,376,221,821 units. It took me about 11 minutes to go through the loop as demonstrated. At the very end, once I'd sold everything from my exosuit inventory and my freighter inventory, I had 2,364,687,624 units and 29,236 nanites. That means for 11 minutes of work, I gained 4,798 nanites and spent 11,534,197 units (or 10,896,942 if I'd sold the chromatic metal and storage augmentation, without selling the lemmium that I already had in my inventory).

If I work those numbers out, it means you could potentially earn 26K nanites over an hour, while spending about 60 million units. Keep in mind that you'd spend a fraction of that if you didn't buy haulers like I did. Your results will vary, but this should give you an idea of what to expect. I also didn't get into my normal scrapping groove, so my numbers are typically a bit better than this demo, but they're still indicative.

In all, with the 1,192 nanites I gained for selling the suspicious modules, I earned 5,990 nanites. Not bad for less than 15 minutes of work.
