This week on Sunday Longplay, I'm playing another ROM hack, this one based on my favorite video game of all time. Welcome to Super Metroid: Project Base!

I've played the original Super Metroid in two different forms on my channel years ago. The original game was one of the first games I played in the early years of my channel, and more recently I played it again as one half of a crossover randomizer with The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past. But this is the first ROM hack of Super Metroid I'm playing on my channel, and I already know of a few others I want to play as well (Hyper Metroid and Super Metroid Redesign immediately come to mind!).

The name "Project Base" refers to its purpose as a base hack for others to build from. It leaves the original world map from Super Metroid largely unchanged, although certain rooms may have been slightly altered, and additional rooms were added, meaning more content to play. Project Base also changes the colors of the environments, fixes some bugs, gives Samus some new movement tricks, and adds other quality-of-life improvements. There are also alternate versions of the hack to play, including the one I'm playing in this video that also incorporates the Justin Bailey sprite hack that will allow you to play as Samus without her power suit.

With the additions of a few new rooms in this hack also comes 4 more missile expansions to collect, and with that a new completion percentage goal of 104%! In this longplay, I'm going for 104% with the best ending!
