1993 Ford F150 Starter Solenoid Replacement – Channel Introduction

This is my 1993 Ford F150, and I’m starting the process of getting this old truck back on the road; step one is replacing the faulty starter solenoid and swapping out a couple oversized battery terminals. This is also the first video I ever recorded, edited, and uploaded to YouTube. We do a lot around here, from farming to DIY projects to maintaining our equipment. We hope you’ll tune in for all of it.

This was my first truck and I drove it every day from 2009 until 2014. I parked it and it didn’t run again until May 2020 when I began my quest to get it back on the road. I put new battery terminals on the truck earlier this year but the terminals I had on hand were too big and were destined to have connection issues so I replaced them with ones that would fit. I also discovered that the starter solenoid had gone bad; I couldn’t start the truck with the key but I could if I jumped it with a screwdriver (Mom would’ve loved that).

Swapping out the solenoid was as easy as disconnecting the wires from the bad one and reconnecting them to the new one. Please be careful when working with electricity – it would be wise to disconnect the battery so you don’t shock yourself.
