Trump Tarnished Biden's "Presidential" Image

Last night's debate is generally being regarded as a disaster by the mainstream media. A mud slinging fest in which neither candidate looked "presidential", they say. I would tend to agree with this analysis to a certain extent. An important detail here to consider however is that Trump has never seemed "presidential" to the voting public. Therefore last night's debate merely reinforced voters pre-existing understanding of Trump's persona. Joe Biden on the other hand has been campaigning as the serious man in the race. The "presidential" candidate who would rise above our country's petty political divisions. Therefore, like he did with so many of his 2016 opponents, Trump managed to drag Joe Biden down in the mud and begin to chip away at his serious and respectable persona.
