Super Mario Bros. 35 (Switch) - Day 1 Battles (Intense 1v1 at the end!)

As part of the celebration of the Mario franchise's 35th anniversary, Nintendo has just re-released the original 8-bit Super Mario Bros. for the NES from 1985...with a twist! Welcome to Super Mario Bros. 35, a 35-player battle royale game based around the original Super Mario Bros. game that started it all 35 years ago!

Along the same vein as Nintendo's other battle royale game Tetris 99, Super Mario Bros. 35 is free to all Nintendo Switch Online members, and is based around sending garbage to the other players to knock them out. Each player starts with a timer of only 35 seconds and must increase it by killing enemies and completing levels to stay alive, because if it reaches zero, you're out! Each enemy you kill also sends that enemy over to the player(s) you're targeting, adding more danger for them to deal with, and the other players can send enemies over to your field the same way. Like in Tetris 99, you can target one of four different groups with the right stick (Most Coins, Lowest Time, Random, or Attackers), or target one particular player with the left stick while using the D-Pad to control Mario. You can also use the coins you collect to spin the item roulette box and buy a random power-up. There are a lot of things to keep track of here to come out on top!

Unfortunately, this game is only available for a limited time until March 31, 2021, so with that in mind, I want to try to record a video of this game every day until it goes offline for posterity purposes.
