Canada threatens to reinstate vaccination passports.

It should be noted that the mandate is not cast in stone, but the government is preparing for the possibility of introducing these measures in the fall. The Minister of Health, Jean-Yves Duclos, made the announcement during a press conference. The vaccine passport requirement for federal employees and other travelers may be over for now, but Mr. Duclos has made it clear that it will likely return this fall.
In addition to officially denouncing passport requirements, Mr. Duclos took the opportunity to explain certain changes in the wording of vaccination requirements. Canada will no longer refer to people who have received all of their vaccines as "fully immunized". In all official documents, we will rather say "up to date". Indeed, the government believes that three doses are no longer enough for many people, and that some of them must receive four or even five doses.
The changes came after public health official Dr Theresa Tam told reporters that several studies had just been completed.

Initially, according to the report, two doses of a vaccine would give a person 50-80% protection; however, this figure drops to just 20% against Omicron and novel coronavirus variants.
Canada's goal now is to convince people to get vaccinated for the third and fourth time, and restricting civil liberties has been a controversial way to do that over the past two years. More than 90% of Canadian adults received two doses, but less than 60% received their booster.
The Conservative Party of Quebec has already begun to fight against the possibility of requiring a third dose to obtain a vaccine passport. For them, it is a personal choice that should not be imposed. In Canada, many are ready to put the last few years behind them.
