After Revlon declared chapter 11 bankruptcy last week, the market is bracing for a wave of retail bankruptcies and already the CMBS market is being crushed as May saw a 3-fold increase in loan losses from Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities. As inflation squeezes the consumer and the Personal Savings Rate continues to drop, shoppers will just have no money left over for discretionary spending.
