About The Controllers

Humanity is obviously being "controlled" but by whom and why? What is the purpose of what can only be described as lacking any reasonable reason as to why? Here is the other thing Humanity seems to be unable to free ourselves from this control so what do we do even if we know it seems to do little good. The question becomes can the Controllers be defeated and if so how?
