State Department on repudiation of US intervention in Latin America
2 years ago
State Dep't Spokesperson Ned Price was asked this week whether recent Leftist victories in Latin America repudiated U.S. foreign policy in the region. He claimed it didn’t. He is, of course, lying.
In his response he referred to Colombia’s voters & their national sovereignty. That includes voters who were terrorized by U.S.-backed death squads formed in the 80’s to put down a revolution. The new Colombian president Gustavo Petro joined a guerilla force fighting in that revolution.
The countries of the Americas are standing up to the power of the United States and it’s clearly making Ned Price uncomfortable.
