Assam’s landscape appears submerged due to floods

The Indian state of Assam has been hit by floods and landslides due to the monsoon season's heavy rains. According to Indian officials, around 200,000 people have taken shelter in 700 relief camps. At least 81 people have been killed and nearly five million people have been affected by floods and landslides across the state since monsoon season began on April 6, 2022.
