WH Coronavirus Outbreak Threatens ACB’s Supreme Court Confirmation

It appears Trump and many others were infected with COVID-19 after the ceremony in the Rose Garden last Saturday announcing the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court. At least two of the people infected that day are GOP senators who sit on the Judiciary Committee, which oversees Supreme Court nominations. Until Mike Lee and Thom Tillis return to the Senate, ACB cannot even get through committee and face a vote on the floor of the senate. And even if somehow Mitch McConnell finds a way to get her through committee without Lee and Tillis, their votes would still be necessary to confirm her since Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski likely are not going to vote to confirm ACB under these circumstances.
