Shhh... don't tell the peppers it's October!

We came back home yesterday after a family wedding in Georgia and then a few days at Gatlinburg. We did quite a bit of hiking: Clingman's Dome, Laurel Falls, and Alum Cave. Beautiful time of year and quite crowded already!

Anyway, after the 7 hour drive home, Stan went out in the garden and picked a large bucket full of lima beans. Because of the cooler weather, they held up very well with very few overripe ones. And because it hadn't rained, there was very little rust on the pods. I guess it didn't get too cold at night while we were gone because the peppers are still flourishing! I'll have to fill up my refrigerator crisper drawers with them...Not a bad problem to have!
