Have you ever tried to experiment with a headjoint to find the right tone for you? Or do you place new headjoints in the same spot you always use and then leave it for better or for worse?

Trying out a new headjoint is an exciting prospect. Different cuts and metals can give you such a different tone. But most people don’t get the tone they really could be getting with that headjoint because they don’t experiment with placement and angle.

Placement and angle of your air on a new headjoint can change from your usual because these different heads have a cut that you are not used to. If you use the same embouchure with all headjoints you won’t experience the color that you could.
