Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
The MCU consists of movies based on Marvel characters, distributed by Disney-owned studios: Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, and Marvel Studios. The franchise also includes comic books and digital series as well as a significant portion of merchandising revenue generated from licensing deals with manufacturers.

DC Extended Universe (DCEU)
In recent years, Wonder Woman (2017) was a rare success for DC Comics in theaters. However, despite hopes that she would be able to help turn things around, Justice League has done little to reverse DC’s fortunes. While Wonder Woman is one of only a few movies on either list to actually turn a profit, it looks as though that it may be too little too late for Justice League to make much of an impact in theaters.
