DOWD: “We have two major legacy parties in the country today, and one has been completely captive, completely captured by a majority of folks who believe in the ends justify the means in politics, even if that means things detrimental to our democracy, and even if that means saying and doing things that encourage more mentally disturbed people to take action in a violent way, as we what we saw on January 6. I think it also says, as you referenced there Greitens’ ad and the other things that have happened in the elections and is what has likely happened today in the primaries, that this is not really about Donald Trump anymore. This is about fundamentally what the Republican Party has become and how dangerous that party has become to the health and safety of Americans and our democracy.”
