U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken addressed the Three Seas summit in Latvia on Monday, telling leaders that Russia’s war in Ukraine has underscored the importance of transportation infrastructure.
Roads, rails and airfields in the Three Seas region are being used to deliver critical humanitarian and security assistance into Ukraine, he said.
At the same summit, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss told leaders that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been holding the world “ransom” by weaponizing hunger and Russian energy.
Truss said the Three Seas region must strengthen economic security through the deepening of trade and shared expertise in science.
