Father's Day Update: June 19, 2022

This is a great time of year to notice all kinds of growth in the garden! And after a week of torrid temperatures, it is a blessing to have a pleasant Saturday morning of around 60 degrees. The 98 degree heat took its toll, but Stan not only watered thoroughly, but also sprayed off the plants morning and evening. They survived. But the coming week looks like an instant replay...only without a respite on the weekend. Believe me, this is NOT typical June weather here in NE Indiana. No rain in the forecast either.

On the bright side, the cherries are ripening nicely and I froze 11 bags (about 3 cups each) of snow peas/snap peas--blanch very briefly for about 1 minute, just until they turn bright green, then cool and vacuum seal.

Waiting for those little "tomato berry" tomatoes to ripen...
Until next time!
