The Gospel According to St. John, part 2 - 06/19/2022

"The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God." - Isaiah 40:3
John the Baptist would fulfill this prophecy some 700 years later. The message was simple...REPENT, for the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is at hand! God had been silent for nearly 400 years; and then this desert dweller wearing camel's hair clothing and eating locusts and honey, began shaking things up and got the community talking about something that hadn't been spoken of before...the "kingdom of heaven"! Could he be speaking of the One that was to come, could he himself be that Prophet, or the Christ?
