The noise in Saigon is just unbelievable ... and constant. Motorbikes, buses, karaoke, outdoor speakers promoting businesses, a big airport ... well what else do you want.
Picking audio gear to use in this environment has taken some time, but we think our
current kit is pretty good. It's never going to sound like we live in Denmark or Wyoming, but at least it will be better than on-camera mics or recording with a cameras internal mic.

We use mostly Boya microphones, but we aren't sponsored by them or receiving merchandise to promote their products. We just think they are a good value proposition for use here. There really is no reason to invest heavily in microphones when recording here. No one will ever know if you are using a $20 or $200 microphone.
