Im Memory Great Dane 'Hero's Silver Heart'

My great dane 'Hero' was my hero. He came to me with pneumonia from a now well known breeder in WA , then crippled legs, weak hips, arthritis through- out his body, gastrointestinal issues, and grew to over 200 lbs - but Hero had a spirit to keep going. Every time he would wink at me, Id say, "Okay, we'll keep going" with my goal just to keep him alive and happy. He had to spend most of his time at home but he really enjoyed taking you by the arm, sitting you down on the couch, then sitting down himself, like only great danes do. He also loved going to McDonalds in our Honda Element for kiddy cones. He was so crippled and sensitive-these were the only real things that brightened his day. He was the smartest dane I have ever known and I miss him around, even whining at me for something, and his eyes, those eyes had so many different expressions. He was my best friend.
