Fall planting garlic with Rocket's "help"

We had our October frost so today is what we call "Indian summer" here in Indiana--77 degrees! I had been debating whether to plant garlic this fall but since we had 3 inches of rain the past couple of days, I could easily dig a trench for the cloves. And even though it was warm, it will be cold again in a couple of days so the garlic should stay dormant.

If our Indiana winters are too much even for the 4" of soil and 6" of mulch, I'll just plant garlic again in the spring like I did this year!

Kitten note: Rocket disappeared for a few days this past week...followed Stan when he walked across the road to visit his dad. The kitten then crushed its way through a nephew's dryer vent and surprised him in the bathroom! The nephew was finally able to catch him and brought him back early in the morning...and the kitten followed him home again. Kitten has no sense of direction...can't ever seem to find his way back home again!
