The US Mint had said that there would be overt and covert security features on the new American silver eagle coins. The reeded edge variation is supposed to be the overt security feature. We still do not know anything about covert security features on the silver eagles. I take a close look at the possible security features on the American silver eagles and attempt to discover what the covert security feature might be.
