Savannah Nest Heron's Evening Nestorations 🥚 6/14/22 16:17

The Male Great Blue Heron brings his mate a tiny twig just big enough to help with the nest weaving. As his mate intertwines the twig into the nest, the male preens his chest feathers that continue to grow and fray in that area of his body. Once the chest feathers become powder-like, he will eventually use his claw to comb them. Using the down to remove any slime from the fish or any other oils they may get in that area.
