Sunday Longplay - 20XX (Switch) - Normal Mode Clear (Hawk & Draco Unlocked!)

This week on Sunday Longplay, I'm playing a more recent game that I've wanted to play on my channel for a while now. Welcome to 20XX, a multiplatform Roguelike game very reminiscent of Mega Man X!

Like Mega Man, there is no real story. Robots are wreaking havoc, you destroy them, then destroy their master. There are initially two characters you can play as, but you can unlock others by completing the game in certain ways. The two starting characters are Nina (who is basically a gender-flipped version of Mega Man X) and Ace (basically Zero). You can unlock two other characters by finishing the game in any mode except Rush Job, and you can unlock alternate Revenant versions of all four characters by finishing Defiant mode with three difficulty-boosting skulls (similar in concept to Halo) turned on.

Because 20XX is a roguelike game, the game is never the same each time you play it. Each stage, stage order, and randomly-generated power-up is procedurally generated, with infinite combinations to choose from. Not only that, but each stage you complete makes the stage design randomization for the next level that much harder, with the bosses boosting in difficulty as you go as well.

In my first playthrough of 20XX, I'm playing on Normal mode to unlock the other two characters. I'll do a Defiant 3-Skull run next week to unlock the Revenants.
