Parkway Drive is a Swedish melodic death metal band formed in 2006. The band released their debut album, "Lifeless", in 2007. The album was well received by critics and gained the band a following in their home country. The follow-up album, "Death in Progress", was released in 2009 and also received positive reviews. The band's fourth album, "Awakened", was released in 2011 and was also well received. Their fifth album, "Origins", was released in 2013 and was their first album to not be released in Sweden. The album reached the top ten in several countries and received acclaim from critics.
