Calculating Base Money With Matthew Mežinskis: Fed Watch

This episode of Bitcoin Magazine's Fed Watch centers around the question of “what is base money?” To help answer it, Matthew Mežinskis joins to offer some thoughts on edge cases in the definition.

The hosts also attack the inflation/deflation debate from a completely different angle, a data-driven lens thanks to Matthew’s research and knowledge on the subject. Simple questions are avoided to expand the topic past the common hyperinflationary tropes of the end of the dollar.

Listeners will also hear discussion of dollar liquidity, the history and current status of gold and silver, foreign reserves of the dollar, and, of course, Bitcoin’s current status relative to other base money types. Matthew also shares some great charts, which can be seen in this video version of the episode.
