The low-res illustrations from the book were lovingly made in higher quality and then integrated with selected watercolor backgrounds through hand painting and finessing in Photoshop. I hoped to bring a more modern aesthetic to the original illustrations that were painted on white backgrounds, back in the days when color printing was very expensive, and make it look more like a modern picture book.
