On June 10th, 2022, at approximately 8:30PM, the Atlanta Police Department’s Air Unit (Phoenix) was patrolling NW Atlanta when they observed a wanted person standing in front of an apartment building near 3049 Middleton Rd NW.

Additional Units were requested to assist with the apprehension of the suspect but upon their arrival, the suspect attempted to flee the area. Between officers on the ground and in the air, a visual of the suspect was maintained as he fled into a nearby apartment building. A perimeter was set around that building and ultimately the suspect was located on the third floor of the building.

The suspect was identified as Major Fields (born 2001). Mr. Fields was wanted for Aggravated Assault, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Terroristic Threats, Battery, and Interference with 911. Additionally, the bag seen in his possession of at the time of his arrest contained a stolen handgun.

The Atlanta Police Department is proud of the work of Phoenix, Titan, ACE, and Zone CSU Units as they team up yet again to remove another firearm from the hands of a wanted felon.
