Free Tibet - Francis Maxino - Official Music Video

This is a performance with live audience of 'Free Tibet', this song had been on rotation on Radio U student radio so was known to a few people around Christchurch who had also heard me singing it at gigs or at Tibetan Freedom Festivals.
It is written in the hope that more people will be made aware of the cultural genocide that has been happening in Tibet since the chinese occupation and take over and the plight of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in Exile attempting to preserve and keep their ancient tradition and language alive.

Recordings of Tibetans in exile, Ladakh, Nepal, were blended in at certain sections. Instruments used were my 12-string guitar in sitar-like fashion (11-strings only with the small doubled E on the fat low string removed as an 11-string), tenor recorder and small Tibetan prayer drum.
This song is for the Tibetan people and their spokesperson;
His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama of the Tibetan Government in exile in their noble struggle for cultural and civil rights under the seemingly oppressive domination and control imposed upon them by the Chinese Communist Party in the now so-called 'autonomous region' that was once the former unique country and culture of Tibet.
