Not all of the #Cattleyaalliance species / hybrids form sheaths as part of the preparing to bloom process, and even if a sheath develops, it is not guarantee that the #orchid will bloom. That is where the term #BlindSheath comes into effect, as a means to identify an orchid with a sheath but no buds ever develop in said sheath. Then there are those orchids that will grow sheaths that are blind, and even dry out, but suddenly they start forming buds... in this video, I go over the different scenarios, show examples and explain my #BestPractices of how I handle them, do I cut them to promote a better bloom, or not. What about the pseudobulb sheaths? Do I remove them, if so, how, and when.
