1 Corinthians 3:1-9 [ESV]
1 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready,

o FLESH AND SPIRITUAL INFANCY
 The biggest remaining danger to a Christian/Saved person is living a life not lead by the Holy Spirit.
• A life of PRACTICAL ATHEISM.
o Brothers and Sisters that aren’t Spiritual People?
o MILK vs. SOLID FOOD:
 Milk = The Gospel in its simplest terms
• 1 Cor. 2:2 “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”
o Gospel 101 – vs. Gospel PHD
 FLASH LIGHT

3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?

o “Still of the FLESH: BEHAVING in a merely human way!
 They are believers living fleshly/worldly/Foolish lives
• Once again tied into the main criticism of 1 Cor. 1:10-17 .

5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? SERVANTS through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each.

o SERVANTS: Christianity does not have Gurus,
 This is especially true for PASTORS!
• Spiritual Gifts – “…As the Lord assigned to each.”

6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 8 He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building.

o GARDENING: Planted – Watered – GROWTH
 This (once again) is a powerful inoculant against spiritual arrogance and spiritual
• Matthew 9:37-38 “ 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

*** SO WHAT ***
- It is woefully immature to revere any Human “servant” above God!
- Each of us have a task in God’s fields – we are Fellow Workers!
- Let’s stay committed to seeking spiritual maturity and not stagnating in spiritual infancy!
o LET’S BE LED BY THE SPIRIT!
