Every guitarist and singer reaches a point where they want to record themselves playing and singing, either for their own improvement and/or to share with friends or the music-loving public. But where do you start? What equipment do you need? And how do people make recordings they can be proud of?

Robert demystifies the basics of recording processes and technology, and helps you discover 3 different types of recording and the Pros and Cons of each. You'll learn about simple One-Pass Recording (in stereo with a small hand-held device). And you'll learn the basics of more complex Two-Pass and Multi-Pass recording using a mic, headphones, audio interface, and computer equipped with music editing software (Digital Audio Workstation or DAW).

Robert sings and plays the 60s Nilsson song Everybody's Talkin' (written by Fred Neil), to provide examples of each type of recording so you can see and hear the difference, and choose for yourself how to record your own playing and singing!
