A 19-year-old Somali woman was gang-raped by 11 men and thrown to her death from the sixth floor of a building in Mogadishu’s Wabari district.
Hamdi Mohamed Farah was invited to a get-together in the area by a man she thought was her friend, only to be attacked on arrival and ultimately killed.

She was gang-raped before being hurled to her death in Mogadishu, Somalia.
According to her family, Hamdi left home on a Friday afternoon, on the 18th of September 2020, and they received a call later that same evening that she was dead and her body was there, waiting for them at Medina Hospital.
Hamdi was buried hours after her body was found, which meant that it is highly unlikely that a thorough forensic investigation took place in order to accurately identify her killers.
Hamdi had completed high school and was going to enrol in college later this year.
She was from central Somalia and was in Mogadishu for studies.
